Nestled in the beautiful pines
of the Black Hills between the historic gold rush towns of Lead and Deadwood. The Ponderosa Motor Lodge has many features and attractions. It is part of "The Historical Lead Walking Tour". Back in the day it was a PIONEER MINING CAMP Complete with a Church, stores, log cabins and saloon, was constructed on Poormans road for the celebration held on August 6th and 7th, 1926. It drew thousands of spectators for the pageant, parades, band concerts and other numerous events. The Ponderosa Motorlodge now occupies this location. With partial building structures thru out the property and one original cabin #10 still standing and to this day is still in service.
